Man armed with knife shot dead by police in Perth suburb of Gosnells after stabbing officer

A knife-wielding man in his 30s has been shot and killed by police after stabbing an officer in Perth's south-eastern suburbs.

Police said four officers were called to a house on Fremantle Road in Gosnells about 1:00am after reports of a disturbance.

WA Premier Mark McGowan said officers were confronted by a man with a knife.

"One of the officers was stabbed and police used their OC spray and a taser, and eventually the person in question was shot," he said.
