ANU study finds COVID-19 infections in Australia could be nearly 60,000 more than reported

The true number of coronavirus cases in Australia may have been massively underestimated, a new study has found. Researchers at Australian National University (ANU) discovered up to 70,000 Australians could have had the virus before the second wave hit, almost seven times higher than the reported 11,000 cases. The startling findings came to light as senior ANU scientists were developing a new blood test to detect people's previous exposure to COVID-19.
