Perth man breaks into bottle shop, gets drunk, can't get out

A not-so-smooth criminal has taken the idea of an open bar to the next level, breaking into a pub and helping himself to everything in sight. The 29-year-old Armadale man broke into the Champion Lakes Tavern at Camillo, in Perth, in the early hours of last Tuesday. Security footage obtained by 9News shows the man falling through a 50cm air conditioning vent and landing awkwardly on the bottle shop floor.

Over several hours he can be seen drinking his way through the bottle shop and various bars of the tavern, helping himself to the beer taps in the bistro and bottles of spirits. He puts his talents for remodelling on display, throwing chairs about the pub, tipping over a TAB machine, destroying tills and smashing windows. At one point he even spreads out over the pool table for a rest, all tuckered out from his antics.
