A Perth mother has warned her daughter could have died from the flu after the three-year-old lost the ability to walk and speak in the midst of one of WA's worst influenza epidemics.
Hayley Henwood, 3, last month became one of thousands in the state struck down by the deadly virus, as a record 3341 WA cases were recorded in May.

People at highest risk of flu are babies, people over 65 years old, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, pregnant women, people with long-term medical conditions, people with weakened immune systems, obese people, smokers, and people who haven't been vaccinated against the flu.
