Wettest August in 53 years as severe weather lashes Perth

Perth is about to say goodbye to the wettest winter in 15 years as a severe weather warning with damaging winds and buckets of rain has been issued for large parts of the state on Wednesday. It has been the wettest August in Perth since 1965, with the Mount Lawley gauge recording 184.8 millimetres for the month so far.Margaret River recorded a whopping 51 millimetres of rain for the day since 9am, according to Bureau of Meteorology duty forecaster Mark Paul.
